Selain mempunyai vokal yang mantap dan berjaya dalam bidang nyanyian, Ziana Zain juga sebenarnya merupakan pelakon yang hebat. Bakat lakonan beliau mula dikesan oleh pengarah dan penerbit filem terkenal, Dato Yusof Haslam sekitar tahun 1994 yang mana Ziana Zain telah diberi kepercayaan untuk membintangi filem beliau berjudul Sembilu. Sambutan hangat yang diraih filem tersebut telah menyebabkan pengarahnya untuk menghasilkan sequel filem tersebut yang berjudul Sembilu 2. Filem Sembilu 2 telah mencetuskan fenomena luar biasa apabila berjaya mengutip 6.4 juta sekaligus menjadikan filem tersebut sebagai filem Melayu paling berjaya dan pengarahnya Dato Yusof Haslam telah digelar Six Million Dollar Man. Synopsis : Ziana Zain acted as seductive night club singer, who tried to seduce Awie and planned to ruin his relationship with his sweetheart, Wati (Erra Fazira). Ziana tries every means to win Awie's heart unfortunately she failed.
